Siti Hawa Operation to Remove Tumor
Siti Hawa was born 6 months ago with two tumors, one on her leg and one on her foot. The father left never to return as soon as he realised Siti was not a normal healthy baby and the mother has to work full time and also has another child and cannot afford to feed and look after them both. A big part of the problem in Indonesia where poor families are having babies they cannot afford, a bigger picture problem that needs some serious solutions.
After the father left, the mother had to give up Siti to the Zam Zam Orphanage and Siti has since had one operation to remove the small tumor on her leg as you can see the bandage on her ankle, but still has the large tumor on her foot to be removed.
The operation to remove the tumor on her foot will need to be done in Jakarta and will require the mother (Ibu Panti) of the orphanage to travel with Siti to Jakarta from Bengkulu.
The operation itself will cost about $500 (USD) and the return flight plus transport and accommodation will be approximately $200 (USD) also accounting for transport in Jakarta and potential overnight stays (2 nights) within Jakarta.
Changing the life of this young girl for the better is better than any material reward that can be thought of. Post operation photos and updates will follow after a successful operation.
